I am married to Graydon Butt and have 2 children Lindsay and Michael. I became a grandmother in May…Bennett who is the light of my life. We moved to Thunder Bay in 1988 which was suppose to be a 4yr time period and here we are 27 yrs later!
I grew up in the Muskoka area and received my education at Canadore College. I graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant and worked over 35 yrs in the field. Most recently worked for Dr Don Lysak for over 23 yrs of my career as his office Manager.
Volunteering has always been a part of my life. I have canvassed for many charities, Collected clothing for the Children of Chernoybl but what has been near and dear to my heart has been my many years with Girl Guides of Canada.I have including my girl years almost 47 yrs of commitment. I have held many positions both as a leader and Provincial Appointments. I ran the local girl guide camp –Polly lake for over 15 yrs. I was the Area Commissioner for 3yrs and my area consisted of Sault Ste Marie to the Manitoba border.
I represented Northern Ontario on a provincial council and was proud to do so. I travelled to both Europe and Mexico with girls on international trips.
Looking forward to being a part of the Thunder Bay Community Auditorium Foundation as their Secretary. The Auditorium plays such a big part in the culture and entertainment of our community and would like to do my part in seeing that that continues!
